The barns were blessed with a rich yield…” / “The Russians are coming!” / “Strong Russian forces are threatening the next village!” / “The Cosacks raged with brutality and despotism! Women and children were not spared! But now let me be silent.” / “Our brave men rescued ME, but those dearest to me, my wife and child, lay still on a stretcher.” / “Your memory will not be in vain, my son! - Janssen is right! - He who forgets his duty to his homeland is a scoundrel!” / Even the old woman recognises her duty! / And the little ones are breaking their piggy banks for the fatherland! / Come on! Strengthen the home trenches! – Buy war bonds! Everybody can do it! Everybody must do it! / We have learned from Janssen’s fate! We must strengthen the home front! Now we all want to buy war bonds!
